In one of the most awaited debuts for Mumbai Indians, Arjun Tendulkar, the left-arm pacer, has finally made his first appearance for the five-time champions in the 20th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 16.

Arjun, son of the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, who is also the mentor of Mumbai Indians, was given his debut cap by Rohit Sharma. The 23-year-old replaced Arshad Khan in the playing XI.

In the wake of his debut, a side-splitting video of Yograj Singh and him dancing has been circulating on the internet, bringing smiles and amusement among cricket fans.

It's worth noting that Yograj Singh, the father of the legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, has played an instrumental role in helping Arjun refine his bowling technique and overcome some of his weaknesses.

Arjun was with Mumbai Indians in the 2021 season as well but he was unable to take part in any games due to an injury sustained during the second half of the tournament in the UAE. Later, he didn’t get any games in the subsequent season as well.

In his brief first-class cricket career, Arjun has picked up 12 wickets in seven matches. In his List A career, the lanky pacer has taken eight wickets from seven games. He possesses an excellent bowling technique, which, combined with his height, allows him to bowl with an exceptional angle.

Given his lineage as the son of cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun is sure to garner plenty of eyeballs as he faces off against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. It will be interesting to see how he performs with the ball at a stadium that is renowned for its batting-friendly conditions.
