Former Indian Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has looked in breathtaking touch in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.

Rahane, who is representing the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023, seemed to have picked off from where he had left in his first two outings against MI and RR as the stylish batter proceeded to lay a stunning counterattack on the RCB bowlers in the powerplay on Monday evening.

Having come to the crease after the fall of opener Ruturaj Gaikwad's wicket, Rahane didn't take much time to make his presence felt as he smoked a short-of-length delivery from rookie seamer Vijaykumar Vyshak effortlessly on the roof of the deep-square leg boundary.

Rahane didn't stop there! In the next over bowled by Wayne Parnell, Rahane drove, flicked for a coupe of fours and a six to help the Chennai Super Kings finish the powerplay at 53/1

Rahane and opener Devon Conway, who looked in superlative touch this evening, moved the score to 83/1 after 9 overs.

Rahane, who had moved on to 37 in just 20 rocks, was finally knocked over by wrist-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga in the 10th over.

Conway is currently batting on 72 (off 41 deliveries) while CSK will hope that he continues his good work in the 2nd half of the innings.
