  • Virat Kohlis Revival Began In Former Pakistan Captain Makes A Bold Remark

"Virat Kohli's revival began in...", Former Pakistan Captain Makes a 'Bold' Remark

Unarguably regarded as one of the best T20I knocks, Virat Kohli's match-winning 82* against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground announced to the world that the maverick batter is back in form. Kohli suffered a lean patch from 2019, until mid-2022 when he started to perform with the bat.

Since then, Kohli has managed to hit five international centuries — one Test, one T20I, and three ODIs.

Former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, while hailing the former India captain, stated that Kohli's international revival came in the 2022 Asia Cup as opposed to the ICC T20 WC.

Speaking to SportsYaari, Haq said that Kohli's self-belief and temperament is what makes him apart from others, as seen during his twin sixes off Haris Rauf in the T20 WC chase.

Here's what Misbah said

“Temperament and self-belief; when you have these things, you can produce an innings like that. You think that was Virat's revival but I believe it began in the Asia Cup. He regained his touch in that tournament.”

Interestingly, Kohli struck his maiden T20I hundred against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022 in UAE.

The batting maestro will be in action today in the ODI series decider between India and Australia in Chennai.
