Delhi Capitals became the first team to book a spot in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 final after beating UP Warriorz last evening by five wickets. Led by the ever-successful Meg Lanning, the Capitals ended up topping the points standings, winning six out of eight games.

Chasing 139 to win, Lanning top-scored for her side with 39, with Marizanne Kapp and Alice Capsey contributing with 34 runs each. Capsey also claimed three wickets.

However, Lanning seemed unimpressed following her side's victory as she sought a better fielding effort from her troops.

Speaking in the post-match presentation, the tournament's leading run-getter, Lanning, said that DC has 'one big game to go' and will focus on clinching the title.

Here's what Lanning said

"Just wanted the team to win and help the unit. I don't think we were at our best. We were sloppy on the field. Was a reasonable wicket. We got off to a flier and helped us when it started to turn,

"We have one big game to go. Hopefully, we will nail that. We will rest for a couple of days before the big game."

In the final, Delhi will face the winner of the eliminator, which takes place today between Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz.
