A page from the books of A-level performances in the Indian Premier League includes the name of stunner Rinku Singh especially after his last over heroics in the Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Gujarat Titans match. The fine all-rounder smashed five sixes off the last five balls to GT bowler Yash Dayal to win the game.
Chasing 29 runs in the final six deliveries, KKR found themselves in a dire situation, with Umesh Yadav on strike when Yash Dayal bowled the 19th over.
Dayal started off with a slower bouncer to Yadav. Yadav could only muster one, and Rinku Singh took strike, and what followed was nothing short of extraordinary. Dayal delivered a full toss to Rinku, who launched it superbly for six over extra cover. As momentum shifted in his favour, Rinku continued his onslaught, lifting another full toss over backward square for the second six in a row.
It finally started stirring when Rinku hit a third six over long-off, which reduced the required runs to just four off the final ball. Dayal tried to vary the pace with a slower ball, but Rinku was not to be shocked. He flat-batted the delivery down the ground for a sixth successive six in a jaw-dropping feat: five sixes in a row.

Rinku Motivated Dayal
While some celebrated the victory, left-arm pacer Yash Dayal faced despair, becoming the target of relentless criticism. However, what followed after this was a heartwarming exchange between Rinku Singh and Yash Dayal. As revealed by him in an interview, Rinku called the GT pacer.
"I texted Yash after the game, saying it happens in cricket, you did really well last year, I just tried to motivate him a little," he said.
Eventually, Nitish Rana led-KKR failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second season in a row, finishing in the seventh place. However, the very next season in IPL 2024 under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer and guidance of Gautam Gambhir, KKR lifted the coveted IPL trophy for the third time in the history of the tournament.
