A star performer for England in Test cricket of late, Ben Duckett has expressed his ambitions to play in the upcoming The Ashes 2023, which begins June 16, when Australia tours English shores.

Duckett made a successful return to the English set-up during their Pakistan tour, slamming 357 runs in three Tests, and continued his rich run in the recently concluded New Zealand series as well.

Duckett, who made his debut back in 2016, was dropped from the side after a string of low scores on the India tour.

The 29-year-old is yet to play a Test against Australia and said that just thinking about featuring in The Ashes makes him shiver, after recalling memories of the famous 2005 series.

Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, the Kent-born further explained his happiness over playing for England in all three formats, especially red-ball cricket.

Here's what Duckett said

"If I'd been sat on the sofa with my dad with a chance of playing an Ashes however many years later it gives me shivers. It doesn't feel real at the minute. The more exciting thing is, whoever that team is, I do believe that we've got a very good chance of beating Australia over here, and I think a lot of people around the country also believe that.

Overall, the left-handed batter has played nine Tests for England, scoring 618 runs which include one century and five fifties.

The first Ashes Test gets underway on June 16 at Edgbaston.
