A relatively unknown name, Mohsin Khan was one of the stand-out performers for the first-time entrant Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The lanky pacer formed a lethal bowling partnership with Avesh Khan last season to finish the competition with 14 wickets, however, his participation is highly unlikely.

Head coach Andy Flower is hopeful about Khan being available to play at the business end of the tournament while admitting that the fast bowler's chances are very minuscule.

As per India Today, Flower stated that Mohsin Khan's loss will be a 'body blow' to the club, which will begin its IPL 2023 campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 1.

Here's what Flower said

"It is a blow not having him, there is no doubt about that. We are hoping that he might come good towards the end of the tournament. "But, quite frankly, I had pretty much written him off as a selection option, and if he becomes fit at some stage during the tournament, I see that very much as a bonus. But I am certainly not expecting that.

LSG will be captained by KL Rahul, who has lately struggled for runs. Flower also responded to former Australian captain Aaron Finch's remarks about LSG, where he said the club won't make it to the playoffs this season.

The former Zimbabwe skipper explained that they are not concerned about opinions and have all their bases covered this time around as a team.

Interestingly, Khan was with the Mumbai Indians squad for the 2018 edition but did not get a match that season.
