'They Want Me To..'- Harshal Patel's 'Massive' Revelation On His Batting Position in RCB vs RR Match

After a few minutes, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals will take on each other in the 32nd group-stage fixture of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. Despite their top-order firing in almost every game, the vulnerability of their middle-order has emerged as a massive headache for the RCB management.

To address their middle-order woes, RCB has performed several on-field experiments, including promoting bowling all-rounder Harshal Patel to up the order ahead of recognised batters like Suyash Prabhudessai, Shahbaz Ahmed and Dinesh Karthik.

However, ahead of RCB's upcoming encounter against RR, Patel has revealed that the RCB think tank trusts his spin-hitting ability, which is why he might be used as a floater once again to take on the spinners in the middle overs.

Furthermore, the experienced campaigner disclosed that he was informed about his potential promotion in the batting order much before the season got underway.

Here's what Patel stated

"They've always backed me with my batting ability. This year, especially, when spinners are operating from both ends, they want to use me as a floater. That's something that I was told way before the season, so I can prepare for that."

However, despite getting two chances, Patel has failed to impress with the bat, managing just six runs. He has also been underwhelming with the ball, picking up seven wickets at a miserable economy of 10.11.

Led by Faf du Plessis, RCB are placed sixth in the IPL 2023 points table with three victories in six outings. They will look to sustain their winning run when they take on RR today.
