'They Are Getting Rewards for Playing Domestic Cricket,' Ravi Shastri Lauds Indian Youngsters

With some incredible performances, the youngsters have lit up the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) scoring runs against the best of the opposition and grabbing wickets against the most renowned batters in the world.

Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has acknowledged the contribution of upcoming stars and praised them for taking their game a level up. He specifically mentioned the names of Rajasthan Royals' Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mumbai Indians' Tilak Varma as they have managed to touch the expectations of the fans and pundits.

Jaiswal who recently smacked a ton has been in terrific form with 428 runs already in the tournament from nine matches at an average of 47.5 while striking at about 160 as he holds the second spot currently on the list of highest run-getters this year. 

Shastri commended both the players for spending time in domestic cricket which has helped them to score runs on all parts of the ground that too right from the start.

"Look at all the guys who come from domestic cricket. Within the first six balls they whack one there one there whether his name is Jaiswal or Tilak Varma. All these guys are playing regular domestic cricket."

Meanwhile, Tilak has been the top-scorer for MI this season with 248 runs in eight matches while striking at a rate of over 150.

Recently, Varma and Jaiswal went against each other at Wankhede with Mumbai winning it in the final over.

Now, after this Yashasvi will be seen playing against Gujarat Titans whereas Varma will be against Punjab Kings.
