'The Umpires Did It For You' - Harmanpreet Kaur's Gratuitous Comment to Bangladesh Skipper

Things became pretty tense at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka as the India captain Harmanpreet Kaur was allegedly wrongly adjudged leg before wicket in the third ODI of the recently-concluded series versus Bangladesh.

After knocking off the stumps with her willow in frustration, Harmanpreet signalled to the umpire that she had hit the ball with the bat. As the skipper was declared out, India collapsed from 160/3 to 225/10 and the match and the series ended in a tie.

Harmanpreet, who visibly was miffed with the umpire's decision, did not remain too quiet even after the game ended. While the 34-year-old openly criticised the poor umpiring standards in the post-match interview, she had a vehement word regarding this with Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana as well.

Reportedly, Harmanpreet in a taunting remark asked Nigar to call the umpires to pick the trophy for her team as the former believes that they too were responsible for the series-tie.

"Why you are only here? You haven't tied the match. The umpires did it for you. Call them up! We better have photo with them as well," Harmanpreet said as quoted to Nigar, reportedly.

Nigar gave a hint of her chat with Harmanpreet as she said this in the press conference after the match.

"She (Kaur) said something which offended me as a player. I can't say what she exactly told me and the team. But it was uncalled for."

With how the incident has transpired, it could be tough for Harmanpreet to escape sanctions now.
