After a toiling first two session, the visiting team got the third wicket of the day as soon as the third session begun, thanks to Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who plucked a low hanging catch at first slip off Ravindra Jadeja's bowling to send Jermaine Blackwood back to the pavilion.

On the very ball over post Tea, Blackwood broke his shackles and thrashed the Indian left-arm spinner for a boundary through mid-off. Jadeja used his shrewdness and made the batter get a faint outside edge a couple of deliveries later.  The Windies deputy got lucky for a second as the ball missed Ishan Kishan's glove but Rahane - standing a feet away from the keeper - first step to his right before diving to left to pluck a sensational grab.

Uncharacteristically, the West Indies batters showed grit and determination throughout their innings; however, the task against them is a uphill one. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite played a courageous knock but fell 25 runs short of a deserving century.

Meanwhile, Kirk McKenzie, Alick Athanaze and even Blackwood have played a vital hand in West Indies' effort as the home team has denied the Indian spinners.

Interestingly, the run-scoring has been on the slower side, which may tell that the Brathwaite-led side is already looking to go for a draw.

At the time of writing, WI are at 200/4 after 95 overs, trailing by 246 runs.
