Pakistan International, Shoaib Malik hasn't retired from the T20 format yet, and he has shown will to represent Pakistan in the format once again before calling it adios.

Malik is statistically Pakistan's best T20 cricketer, and is just behind Chris Gayle (14562) in the list for most number of T20 runs with 12,274 runs. After playing last for his national side in 2021, he acts a T20 agent and currently is playing for Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League.

In an interview with Cricbuzz, the 41-year-old stated he might have retired from Tests and ODIs, but he'll give his best shot if recalled to play T20Is.

"I would like to retire from internationals and complete cricket once and for all but right now I'm not even thinking about it and I am enjoying my cricket whenever I get an opportunity I do go and play. I have already retired from Tests and ODIs and T20s yes I'm still very much available and wherever I get my opportunity I will give my best shot," Malik opined.

The T20 veteran was with the Pakistan side during the T20 World Cup of 2021 and toured Bangladesh after the tournament; however, he was axed after below-par outings. Malik also commented on the politics tangled in Pakistan Cricket Board.

"I'm a cricketer and seen enough in my life now and these things don't bother me and I guess as an athlete it is a message for all athletes that when you are playing a team game don't think who is in your favour and who is not in your favour,"  he mentioned.

Malik also hinted at the way forward for him and how he's working on new variations in his bowling.

"What I have been doing and I have been trying is to stay a step ahead so that I can meet the requirement where ever I go and play. I've been working on a couple of different varieties in my bowling. The minute a spinner comes in and bowls, every batter starts coming after that offie so I need work on some variations and I've been working on that."

In the ongoing BBL, the experienced has piled up 231 runs in 8 matches at healthy rates, with his best of 75* against Chattogram Challengers.
