Out of favour Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali believes that all-rounder Shadab Khan is ready to captain the national side. Shadab has been Pakistan's most-improved player in the past few years and is also their white-ball vice-captain.

As per Cricket Pakistan, Ali, who will be playing under Shadab's leadership in the Pakistan Super League 2023, stated that the leg-spinner is ready for the challenge and will give it his all.

So far, the recently married player has appeared in 84 T20Is and 53 ODIs, amassing 1072 and picking up 168 wickets combined.

There have been talks within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the removal of Babar Azam as an all-format skipper after a poor home season recently.

Here's what Hasan said

“He is ready [for Pakistan captaincy]. He has proved himself as a captain in PSL. I think he has also lead Pakistan in two matches, so I think he is ready. If he is given the responsibility, he will avail it. He is always ready for any challenge and gives his best.”

Shadab missed Pakistan's recent white-ball series against New Zealand at home owing to an injury he suffered during his stint in the Big Bash League 2022-23.

The all-rounder will be in action, leading Islamabad United in the fourth match of the Pakistan Super League 2023.

They take on Karachi Kings on Thursday.
