Quinton de Kock announced as the skipper of Durban's Super Giants

Ahead of the inaugural season of the SA20 league to be played in January, Durban's Super Giants have appointed Quinton de Kock as their skipper. The news was confirmed by the franchise through their social media handle where they mentioned the excitedness about southpaw leading them.

De Kock, who also is a critical part of Durban's sister franchise in the IPL Lucknow Super Giants, will be plying his trade in South Africa's newest extravaganza. 

In a recent interview, the left-hander expressed his eagerness to play alongside the youngsters.

"Pretty much it's a new tournament, so, I guess looking forward to the unexpected, we've had a couple of these tournaments, and there hasn't been one in a while. A lot of youngsters who haven't been part of the big tournament will be involved in this, so it will be good for the new guys and obviously for the guys who've been around in serving cricket."

Both the sides are owned by RP Sanjiv Goenka Group who recently forayed into T20 domestic teams. Interestingly, all the six teams present in the SA20 competition are in hands of the IPL setups.

The tournament is set to kick off on 10th January with the final ball to be bowled on 11th February 2023.
