After a thriller against Australia in the warm-up game where the Men in Blue marginally crossed the finishing line by just 6 runs, thanks to that brilliant final over by Mohammed Shami, who defended 11.

Although KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav did display their class by striking magnificent half-centuries, skipper Rohit Sharma wasn't entirely satisfied with the effort.

Ahead of the Super 12 stage, where India will meet their arch-rivals Pakistan on 23rd October, there was a sign of caution from the experienced Indian captain. Rohit, who spoke post-match, expressed his concern over India's bowling woes that might hurt them during crucial stages.

Furthermore, he stated that the team lacked somewhere around 15 runs that could have hurt them towards the death.

"I thought we batted well, towards the end we could have added 10-15 runs more. We always want a set batter to stay till the end, SKY did it, overall a great batting effort with a nice bounce, was a pitch where you can trust your shots,"

He also expects his bowlers to step up and make sure they provide consistent performances.

"There is room for improvement, but I want more consistency from the bowlers. You need to keep things simple and hit the deck hard. Overall a good game for us, they had a decent partnership, and that put us under pressure."

India were already laid low before the start of the World Cup when ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out due to a back injury.
