Sunil Gavaskar and Tom Moody pick their T20 World Cup 2022 finalists

The T20 World Cup 2022 is underway and 16 teams across the globe will be battling it out to win the coveted prize. 

Cricketing legends Sunil Gavaskar and Tom Moody have now chipped in with their predictions. 

Former Indian batter Gavaskar believes that India will make it to the finals and they will be up against the hosts in the grand finale. Meanwhile, Moody also echoed similar thoughts. 

Team India are in impressive form heading into the T20I World Cup and they will certainly be the team to beat in the marquee event. After tasting disappointment in the Asia Cup 2022, Rohit Sharma and co will be raring to prove themselves at the highest level. 

Meanwhile, Moody believes that India and Pakistan will advance from their group and Australia will be joined by rivals England from the other group. 

The Australian all-rounder believes India will have to take battle it out against the hosts if they want to win the tournament. 

Despite their underwhelming displays in the recent months, Australia remain a formidable outfit, especially on home soil. They will be desperate to prove their mettle in front of the home crowd. 

Asked to pick the two finalists, Gavaskar said (as quoted by NDTV):

"India, definitely. And because I am in Australia so I am going to say Australia."

Moody added: "I am going to give you the top four. Australia, England will go through from their group. I think Pakistan and India would be leading the other group. The finalists, I have to say Australia and India."
