Former Indian batter Robin Uthappa has openly blamed the Indian team management for creating unnecessary insecurity among players by dropping them despite decent performances. Uthappa's statement comes after the Men in Blue have been struggling to win the ICC tournaments faltering out at crucial stages.

He cited a recent example of Kuldeep Yadav who was benched during the second Bangladesh Test after playing a vital role in the first game, earning the player of the match award. He further argued about the impact of this where he mentioned that players feel insecure about their place.

The 37-year-old was quite fussed about it as he was of the view that players would look to save their place in the team rather than performing at their merit.

“I think there is a lack of sense of security among the players in the team. There have been constant changes in the team for a long time, when a player does not feel safe, he always remains with the mindset of saving his place in the team.

“I think it is important to give a sense of security to the players. What we are seeing is, for the last few years, too many changes are going on. And in crucial matches, their performance dips because they are not sure of their place in (the) team for the next match.”

The three-time IPL champion wasn't convinced about this so he asked the team to take inspiration from CSK & MI as both sides have always believed in making fewer changes.

Currently, Uthappa is a part of the Dubai Capitals side in the inaugural edition of the ILT20.
