The Knight Riders franchise's Abu Dhabi-based team has handpicked its skipper in the form of their trump card Sunil Narine for the International T20 League scheduled in January next year.
The Trinidadian cricketer plays for both Kolkata Knight Riders and Trinbago Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and Carribean Premier League, respectively.
Earlier in the year, the franchise penned a deal with the wily spinner during the draft of the inaugural edition of the tournament.
Narine, who operates as a T20 free agent, lends his services to all the franchises across the globe. His records in the shortest format have also been impeccable both with the ball and bat. He has played 435 T20 matches to pick 474 wickets at an economy of 5.99, and with the bat; he has 3355 runs at a strike rate over 145.
However, the 34-year-old had to rejig his bowling action after it was reported illegal back in 2020 - but he has found his way to fox batters in his mystery. Meanwhile, that wasn't the first time when his action was reported but the Knight Riders management has always backed the allrounder during these low points.
Coming back to the ILT20, apart from the Trinidadian, the Knight Riders have also drafted the likes of Andre Russell, Jonny Bairstow, Charith Asalanka, Colin Ingram, and more.
