Former Mumbai cricketer Amol Muzumdar heaped praise on Richa Ghosh for her remarkable performance in the crucial India-West Indies Women's T20 World Cup 2023 encounter.

Richa's unbeaten 44 off 32 deliveries was instrumental in helping her team chase down the 119-run target set by the Hayley Matthews-led side in Cape Town on Wednesday, February 15, winning the match by six wickets with 11 deliveries remaining.

Speaking to Star Sports after the match, Muzumdar had high praise for Richa, stating:

"I enjoyed watching this match a lot because if Deepti Sharma was successful in bowling, I feel Richa Ghosh has become a new sensation. It is a game-changing moment when Richa Ghosh enters the match." 

Along with her match-winning innings in the recent game, the wicket-keeper batter also played a significant role in India's Women's T20 World Cup opener against Pakistan, scoring an unbeaten 31 runs to help her team secure a six-wicket win.

During the discussion, the former Mumbai player stated the same, highlighting:

"In the last match also, it was a pressure game between India and Pakistan, there she came and played a good knock. It means we are seeing new stars, this World Cup is throwing up new, new stars."  

Richa Ghosh's stellar performances in international cricket earned her a lucrative deal with Royal Challengers Bangalore, who acquired her for INR 1.9 Crore in the Women's Premier League (WPL) Auction held in Mumbai on Monday, February 13.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore engaged in a bidding war for her services during the WPL auction, with the latter finally acquiring her for the inaugural season.
