The old workhorse for New Zealand in Test cricket, Neil Wagner has been absolutely phenomenal with his lethal deliveries over the last decade.

Left-armer's spell of 4/82 during the first innings of the first Test against England at Mount Maunganui where he dismissed Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Foakes and Jack Leach, took him to a magnificent feat.

His wicket of Foakes was his 250th wicket in Test cricket which he achieved in 61 matches where he got the opportunity to bowl in 115 innings. Further, he is just the fifth Kiwi to achieve that milestone with some big names ahead of him.

Most Wickets for New Zealand in Test Cricket:

  1. Sir Richard Hadlee (431)
  2. Daniel Vettori (361)
  3. Tim Southee (355)
  4. Trent Boult (317)
  5. Neil Wagner (251)

Apart from this, he is the second fastest to achieve this record with first being Sir Richard Hadlee who recorded the same number of wickets in 53 games.

Moreover, the 36-year-old has scalped wickets at an average of 26.80 while scalping nine five wicket hauls during his international career that began in 2012.

His four-fer on the first day couldn't stop the visiting England side from posting 325 on the board after which they declared asking the home team to bat for the remaining 18 overs in the day where they lost three crucial wickets for just 37.
