On Tuesday, renowned media Zee News took the cricket fraternity by storm, revealing its ground-breaking sting operation findings on Indian chief selector Chetan Sharma

In the video clip released by Zee News, Sharma was seen boasting about his influence in Indian cricket, claiming how the star Indian players, including some big names, keep in touch with him regularly.

Meanwhile, a BCCI official has dismissed Sharma's statements on the matter. As reported by PTI, the official also seemed unimpressed with the sting operation, citing it would prevent the players and selectors from having an open conversation with the media outlets going forward.

Here's what the official stated

"Chetan spoke a bit too much. None of the top India players talk to him. Have you seen him speak to Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma publicly in any training session? He would stand in one corner during T20 World Cup in Australia and no one bothered to speak to him,

"No player or selector will be comfortable on sharing a cordial relationship even with well-meaning journalists after this sting as the trust factor has been compromised."

After the incident, the BCCI is pondering over Sharma's future as the chief selector. As things stand, the apex body will soon take a final call on the matter.
