The much-awaited ICC ODI World Cup will take place in October-November this year. Like its previous editions, this World Cup is also expected to provide the spectators with endless entertainment, with numerous robust teams set to battle it out for the coveted trophy.

Speaking of India, the hosts recently lost an ODI series to Australia by 1-2, and will look to get back on winning track whenever they next feature in a 50-over series.

Considering they will play a World Cup at home after 12 years, fans and experts have set high hopes from the Men in Blue.

Meanwhile, veteran keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has named experienced all-rounder Hardik Pandya as India's trump card going into the tournament.

As quoted by the Hindustan Times, the RCB player opined that Pandya balances the Indian lineup through his incredible all-round skillset. Furthermore, he explained how the Baroda player's exclusion imbalances the team combination.

Here's what Karthik said

"He is unarguably the most important player in the lineup. A, because he brings two skills to the floor and the fact that he brings two tough skills to the floor. Medium pacer and batting all-rounder is something that is very, very hard to get,

"He is bowling well. The way the team is constructed depends on where Hardik Pandya is. Suddenly if you remove him from the whole team and you feel that are we going a batter more or are we going a batter less. It becomes a massive question mark. For Team India, the key player is Hardik Pandya and if he is in form, he brings a lot to the table."
