Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell provided an update on his leg injury, sharing that it is yet to heal completely.

In what can be called a freak injury, Maxwell broke his leg at a party and had to go for surgery to repair his left fibula. After a long injury layoff, he returned to action in the first ODI of the recently-concluded series versus India. He contributed eight runs with the bat, along with bowling two overs.

While accepting that the injured leg is still not 100 per cent, the 34-year-old is hopeful it will not trouble him in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

"The leg's okay. It's going to be a number of months before I'm 100 per cent. Hopefully it's (leg) good enough to get through the tournament and still do the job," Maxwell said as quoted.

As the IPL shifts back to a home-away format, Maxwell is all charged up to play in Bengaluru for RCB.

"Finally getting back after a couple of years (of playing inside bio-bubbles). It's pretty exciting and I'm pretty pumped to play in front of our home fans," he added.

The Big Show is certain in the RCB XI and therefore holds an essential role in the franchise. However, after a stellar 2021, he had a mediocre last season, scoring 301 runs in 13 matches.

Faf Du Plessis and Co. will start their campaign against Mumbai Indians on April 2 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
