Indian women’s cricketer Ravi Kalpana has announced her retirement from all forms of the game. She made her international debut with an ODI against New Zealand at Bengaluru in 2015.

Cricket Andhra representative calls it quits after 15 years of service

On Thursday, September 1, Cricket Andhra confirmed Ravi Kalpana’s retirement announcement on their official Instagram account. They thanked the cricketer for her contributions towards Andhra cricket for 15 years.

Notably, Kalpana joined Andhra Pradesh in their 2010-11 domestic season at a tender age of 14. She remained a part of Andhra Women until November last year, where she played Women’s Senior One Day matches for the side.

In her final outing against Himachal Pradesh, she claimed a catch and affected a stumping to star in her side’s eight-wicket victory.

The wicketkeeper-batter has represented her national side in seven ODIs, all between June 2015 and February 2016. However, she did not receive the opportunity to bat in more than half of those matches. Her notable contributions came from behind the stumps, where she claimed four catches and a stumping while donning the Indian jersey.

Kalpana has also played for the Trailblazers in T20 Challenge alongside some of the biggest names of Indian women’s cricket.
