The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) organised 'The Hundred' has attracted eyeballs since its inception in 2021. The 100-ball tournament was meant to change the dynamics of domestic cricket in England, which was on the decline after failing to find any takers.

Former England fast bowler Stephen Harmison, however, has different views. Speaking to talkSport Cricket, Harmison batted for more T20 leagues modelled around the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

Two-time The Ashes winning player said that 'The Hundred' lacked quality and several international stars are pulling out. The 43-year-old represented the Three Lions in two T20Is apart from playing 63 Tests and 58 ODIs.

"We've got to play T20 Cricket, the Hundred doesn't work. "I'd question the quality - the big players are pulling out. It would make the competition better & closer to the #IPL."

Been an average tournament: Chris Tremlett

Former England paceman Chris Tremlett echoed similar sentiments to that of his bowling partner Harmison. Tremlett described the competition as average.

"Completely agree with @Harmy611  on this. It’s been a very average comp from what I’ve seen and way too many one sided games. 2020 is a much better format imo"

Former England player David Lloyd also expressed his approval of Harmison's take on 100-ball cricket.

The second edition of 'The Hundred' will conclude on September 3.
