It was a day of jubilation for Australia's left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann who bagged figures of 5/16 on the first day of the Indore Test to bowl India out for just 109 runs.

The 26-year-old's deliveries were proving way too difficult for the home side to manage as he dismissed opponent's skipper Rohit Sharma along with Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin and Umesh Yadav to bag fifer in just his second Test.

Moreover, after the game, while talking to the broadcasters he credited his fellow teammate and senior off-spinner Nathan Lyon for supporting and backing him the entire time. According to him, Lyon asked him to be in the contest and fight against the Indian batters, especially Sharma.

"Nathan Lyon was fantastic to me. He said ‘pull your sleeve up and get into the contest’. Doesn’t really matter if you’re bowling to Rohit. Yes, Rohit is one of the best in these conditions, but he asked me to worry more about myself,”

Further, he disclosed that he is pinching himself after this kind of a performance which holds some great significance for him as his father came to the game today.

“Yeah, definitely. We sort of reviewed the Delhi game, myself, the spinners along with Dan Vettori. I am sort of pinching myself every time I go to bed. It’s pretty special. My dad got in today, it was pretty special to take some wickets in front of him. I am getting a lot of support from back home. It feels amazing to be part of this team.”

Australia after bowling out India, scored 156 for the loss of four wickets by the end of the first day's play.
