After testing the top-order batter Anuj Rawat as Impact Player, bringing him down the order, Bangalore have finally decided to rejig their strategy and opted to substitute Mohammed Siraj with Suyash Prabhudessai in the chase against Chennai at Chinnaswamy.

In the 17th over, after Dinesh Karthik's dismissal, the team management sent Prabhudessai in a tense moment of the game, with RCB needing 36 runs.

The Goa all-rounder had an arduous task on their hand, and he tried his luck, but unfortunately, Prabhudessai fell inches short of having a dream first game this season. He slammed a 10-ball 19, pushing CSK's back through the wall, but he missed the trick against MS Dhoni's wily mind and his death bowlers.

Eventually, Chennai notched up a nail-biting win by 8 runs.

Earlier in the game, Devon Conway and Shivam Dube smacked the RCB bowlers in all corners of the park, putting 226 runs on the board.

Needing a miracle in the chase, RCB lost Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror early in the innings, but Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell's 126-run partnership put the game back on Bangalore's plate.

However, MSD's shrewdness put CSK in the driving seat. Karthik, Prabhudessai and Shahbaz Ahmed tried their hand, but it wasn't meant for them at last.
