Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson reflected on his side's humongous victory in their campaign-opener versus Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

While accepting that he was skeptical about how things will turn out in the game against SRH, Samson looked pleased as Rajasthan gained a massive 72-run win.

The 28-year-old is also well aware of the fact that RR may run across a few flaws as the season progresses.

"Was wondering how we'll start this season, very happy with this. Having batters like Buttler and Jaiswal, the mindset with which they play the powerplay we can expect such starts,"

"We are a very good side, but you know this format. So we need to keep our heads down. Today was a very good start but we are looking at finishing things well. For me, today I wanted to stay there and finish the innings. We will find out if there are any weaknesses as the tournament goes on."

Asked to bat first by Hyderabad, the Samson-led side hammered the first 200-plus total of the season, riding on Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and their leader's fifties.

Chasing 204 runs, SRH bowed down to Trent Boult's new-ball spell as his double-wicket maiden started the second innings on a high for RR. Yuzvendra Chahal bettered the day for the franchise as his four-for reduced the opposition to 131/8 in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals are scheduled to go up against Punjab Kings on April 5 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.
