'MS Dhoni Told Me To Propose to Jaya...,' Deepak Chahar

In a surprising revelation, Deepak Chahar, the star Indian pacer for the Chennai Super Kings, shed light on a previously unheard incident surrounding his proposal to his better half, Jaya Bhardwaj, during the 2021 edition of the IPL.
Chahar revealed that his original plan was to propose to Jaya, after the IPL 2021 final. However, his CSK captain MS Dhoni advised him to carry out the proposal before the playoffs in order to maintain his focus on the game.
Here’s what Chahar said:
"It was Mahi bhai [MS Dhoni] who told me to propose to her before the qualifiers so that I can focus more on the semis and finals."
The CSK pacer made this revelation during his chat with Gaurav Kapur in the latest episode of Breakfast with Champions. Chahar also missed a few matches for CSK this season, but he made an astounding comeback and has been instrumental with the new ball since then.
The Indian pacer has picked up 12 wickets in nine CSK appearances at an economy rate of 8.63. In the latest qualifier match against Gujarat Titans, he picked up two crucial wickets while conceding just 29 runs in his four overs spell.
Chennai Super Kings beat Gujarat Titans by 15-runs in the first qualifier to secure a berth in the final of the tournament. The Titans, however, finally managed to make it to finals as well after beating Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier by 62 runs.
