On Sunday, two formidable outfits, Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, will lock horns with each other in the final of the IPL 2023. Both teams have played some outstanding cricket in the tournament, outclassing their counterparts and sealing their spot in the final.

The previous face-off between these two teams witnessed MS Dhoni-led CSK hand the Titans a 15-run defeat in qualifier 1. Riding on Devon Conway's half-century, CSK posted a fighting total of 172 runs and defended it successfully, thanks to a superb collective effort from their bowlers.

However, it will be a different scene altogether in the final, as the surface in Ahmedabad will behave contrastingly to that in Chennai. So, ahead of the high-octane clash, let's see what the stats say about the iconic venue.

Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad IPL Records & Ground Stats

The Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad has hosted 26 IPL matches, with the first of them all played between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders way back in 2010. Teams batting first and second have won 13 games each at the venue.

The highest-ever team total recorded here is 233 for three by Gujarat Titans against Mumbai Indians in the recently held qualifier 2. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals hold the infamous record for the lowest-ever team total of 102, which they registered against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014.

Traditionally, the venue favours the batters, as evident from the average scoring rate of 8.37. Furthermore, the batters score 27.11 runs on average per dismissal.

These facts indicate that the ground could witness another high-scoring encounter when these two teams take on each other. As the surface won't likely slow down with time, the toss-winner might opt to field first.
