Mitchell Marsh is an absolute match-winner and there is no doubting his potential. However, before the match number 40 of IPL between DC and SRH, Marsh has been pretty quiet with the bat, failing to deliver to the expectations of his fans around the world.

Marsh though is a marquee player and as it is often said in cricket -form is temporary, class is permanent, Marsh came to party against SRH in a crucial match for his side. He first took four wickets with the ball among 6 wickets DC took and gave just 27 runs in his four overs. He also bowled a maiden in it and was a lone ranger for his side when all other bowlers struggled with their rhythm. This was not all though, with 198 to chase, Marsh walked out to bat in the very first over with Warner back to the hut for a duck.

He then showed all his might with the bat and smashed the ball all over the park in a brilliant 63 off 39 balls and stitched together a 112-run stand. His efforts though were not enough to take DC over the line as they lost by 9 runs.

However,  Mitchell Marsh is now a part of an elite list of players who have taken four wickets and scored a fifty in the same IPL match. He is just the fifth player to achieve this feat after Paul Valthaty, Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard, JP Duminy. Yuvraj, infact, has achieved this record two times - Against Delhi Capitals ( Formerly Delhi Daredevils in 2011) and Rajasthan Royals in 2014.

Here is the list of  Players who have got 50 runs + 4 wickets in an IPL match

Paul Valthaty vs DEC (2011)

Yuvraj Singh vs DC (2011)

Kieron Pollard vs RR (2012)

Yuvraj Singh vs RR (2014)

JP Duminy vs SRH (2015)

Mitchell Marsh vs SRH (2023)

Talking about Delhi Capitals and their performance in the IPL 2023, they have now lost 6 out of their 8 games. They now need to win all their remaining six games to stand a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
