Kyle Mayers has matched shoulder-to-shoulder with the class of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway, as the Lucknow opener has kept LSG in the chase by smashing a fifty off 21 deliveries. The West Indies batter scored his half-century inside the powerplay, which is the second time a batter has done in this year.

However, the Windies batter lost his cool just after smacking the milestone, miscuing a hoick off Moeen Ali's bowling, before he sent back KL Rahul in the subsequent over.

In his knock of 53 runs, Mayers tonked 8 fours and two mighty maximums, where he went after the likes of Deepak Chahar, Ben Stokes and the Impact Player - Tushar Deshpande.

But to LSG's hard luck, the Chennai spinners tightened the screws and took three quick wickets in a span of 10 balls.

The visiting team is going strongly as far as the required run rate is concerned; however, they have lost one too many wickets.

At the time of writing, Lucknow are at 96-3 after nine overs, with Marcus Stoinis and Krunal Pandya in the middle.
