Kapil Dev, an Indian cricket legend, has shared his sincere thoughts on the future of MS Dhoni and indicated that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain has accomplished his contributions to the game.

During the IPL 2023 season, there has been extensive debate and speculation regarding Dhoni's future, with fans and experts sharing their perspectives. Some individuals, including Harbhajan Singh, Michael Hussey, and Dwayne Bravo, have suggested that Dhoni will continue playing. However, Dhoni has remained tight-lipped about his plans, leaving everyone guessing.

"He has been playing IPL for 15 years. Why is it that we are only talking about Dhoni? He has done his work. What more do we want from him? Do we want him to play all his life? That is not going to happen. We should instead be thankful that he played for 15 years. Whether he plays next year or not, before departing he has played impressively. He may not have scored big runs but he led the team to the final and it shows what is the importance of a skipper in the game of cricket," said Kapil Dev praising Dhoni for demonstrating his exceptional leadership skills by leading the CSK into the final of the tournament during an interview.

Following the Chennai Super Kings' victory over the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1, MS Dhoni did mention that he has enough time to contemplate his future in cricket. Dhoni's statement indicates that he is taking his time to make a thoughtful decision about his cricketing career going forward.

"I don't know. I have 8-9 months to decide. The small auction will be around December. So why to take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide. But, I will always be there for CSK, whether it's in the playing form or sitting somewhere outside," MS Dhoni told Harsha Bhogle for the official broadcasters.

Rain played a big spoilsport at the IPL final last night, due to its significant impact  on the match, the umpires ultimately yielded to the adverse conditions and decided to postpone the IPL final to the Reserve Day. The inclement weather had caused considerable disruptions, leading to a situation where it was deemed necessary to reschedule the final match.
