It is the Final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 which will see the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) up against the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) clashing against each other at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 28th May.

Team Previews

Chennai Super Kings

The Chennai Super Kings have been outstanding once again in yet another IPL season playing their 10th final as they have managed to win games on a consistent basis. MS Dhoni has been brilliant with the tactics and the fact that his intuition has been spot-on, giving the team an edge over the other sides in the competition.

CSK won eight out of their fourteen games with one of them being a washout which helped them to finish in second position. The last match against GT in Qualifier 1 was a glimpse of the side's spin-heavy attack that could tumble the best of the opposition.

Team's batting has been doing pretty well in the tournament and the credit mainly goes to the top order which consists of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Shivam Dube and course, Ajinkya Rahane.

Gujarat Titans

Titans are in their second successive finals and this has been mainly possible due to the collective effort that they have put in. Skipper Hardik Pandya has been nothing short of tremendous with his calmness on the field which has resulted in players getting full freedom to express themselves.

They had a hiccup against CSK in Qualifier 1 but an all-round effort from the side sealed the deal against Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2. First, it was Shubman Gill's century then Mohit Sharma's five-wicket haul that caused most of the damage to the opposition.

The bowling has been firing with Mohammad Shami holding the purple cap, the Afghan spin duo of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed putting pressure in the middle, Josh Little disrupting the batters with his canniness and Mohit Sharma using the pace of the wicket to deceive. Also, the Shubman Gill storm has been most prominent this season with a record three centuries.

Pitch Report: Last game here proved to be an absolute belter for batting which means chasing could be preferred for this encounter. Dew can be a huge factor which might prompt the teams to be aggressive if they are asked to bat first as anything around par won't be a huge problem for the chasing side. 190 could be on the cards which means teams will be looking to get something higher than this in case of dew.
