England captain Jos Buttler added another feather to his illustrious cap as he became the leading run-scorer for his national team, surpassing former skipper Eoin Morgan.

The dashing England cricketer achieved the unique milestone during the Super-12 contest against New Zealand in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on Tuesday at The Gabba, Brisbane.

Having opted to bat first after winning the toss, Buttler clobbered 73 runs off just 47 balls, studded with seven fours and two sixes and stitched an 81-run partnership with Alex Hales.

During the innings, Jos Buttler surpassed former skipper Eoin Morgan and has become the country's highest run-getter in the shortest format.

While Morgan accumulated 2,458 runs for England in T20Is, Buttler now has 2468 runs in T20 Internationals. Also, the forenamed players are the only two English batters to breach the 2,000-run mark in T20Is.
