Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja lavished praise on the Pakistan cricket team for their valiant efforts against arch-rivals India in the Super-12 contest of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday.

It was former India captain Virat Kohli, who again stepped up to the occasion and delivered one of his career-best knocks to help India steamroll Pakistan by four wickets.

Shaan Masood rescued Pakistan's innings as he top-scored for the Men in Green and clobbered a solid 76-run partnership for the third wicket with Iftikar Ahmed, who put up an incredible fightback (34-ball 51) to help his side post a challenging total on the board.

Pakistan's pacers, in reply, got on the throats of Indian batters from the word go, having reduced them to 31/4 inside seven overs before Kohli and Hardik Pandya wreaked absolute havoc with the bat to bring India back into the game and take them over the finish line.

Delighted with Pakistan's efforts with the bat and ball, PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja took to Twitter to appreciate the Green Shirts, saying that the game can sometimes be cruel and unfair.

Here's what Ramiz Raja tweeted

Following this win, Team India reached the top of the Group B points table, claiming two crucial points as well as early momentum. They are set to take on the Netherlands in their next T20 World Cup assignment on October 27 at Sydney Cricket Ground.

As for Pakistan, they will be gutted after losing the nail-biter against India and must be looking to roar back in their next game. They are slated to play against Zimbabwe in their match on October 27 in Perth.
