Ireland wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker weighed in on the team's belligerent approach in T20 cricket.

Andrew Balbirnie and Co. have faced a string of T20I defeats in 2022, however, recently won a series against Afghanistan.

Mentioning how Ireland functions in T20Is, Tucker said how it's about scoring quick runs and taking wickets consistently for them.

'If you can’t get on top of the opposition in T20 cricket, fair chance they'll dominate you'

Explaining the rationale behind Ireland's aggressive strategy, the 26-year-old stated that it is important to always be one-up on your opposition in the shortest format of the game

Speaking on the upcoming T20 World Cup, Tucker asserted that the Irish side has come better prepared this time around as compared to last year.

"Last year was bitterly disappointing, but the great thing about international cricket is that there is always an opportunity to turn things around. We are very fortunate that there is another edition of the T20 World Cup so soon after the last. I think our T20 cricket is in a much stronger state this year. The motivation and the skills are there - it’s important now to try and entwine those and perform on the day," he added.

Notably, Ireland will start their tournament campaign on October 17 as they are scheduled to compete against Zimbabwe at Bellerive Oval, Hobart.
