After a record-breaking spell of bowling by Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) English recruit Mark Wood on his debut for the franchise, the pacer revealed how he felt after the game. Claiming a five-wicket haul with extreme pace, the right-armer helped his side to bowl out the Capitals for 143 while they were chasing 194 for victory.

For his magnificent contribution, Wood received the player of the match award where he mentioned that it didn't go quite well during the only game he played before in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings back in 2018 as the Ashington-born was hammered for 49 runs in his four-over spell.

"Last time I played for CSK, but it didn't go quite well. But I wanted to make an impact in this game. The landing area was bit of an issue, but I am pleased with my rhythm as I managed to take wickets. You could see the dew on the grass and it affected me. I fall even at the best of times. We have trained here, so we knew dew was going to be a factor,"

However, this game came in as redemption to him after he managed to decimate the opposition. Adding his point, he reckoned that it wasn't easy to bowl today because of the dew present on the field but somehow he still managed.

"KL tried to keep things simple for me and the planning with Morne helped me. I was trying to keep my strides short (due to the wet outfield). Trained here before during practice games, but the intensity was different, not as much as it was tonight. Was worried a bit about slipping but I will try to shrug that off next time."

Mark will next be seen in action during the side's next match against the Chennai Super Kings on 3rd April to be played in Chennai.
