IPL Winning Coach All Set to Play Major Role in USA Cricket

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach and main boss, Stephen Fleming will be the coach to Dallas-based Major League Cricket (MLC) team Texas Super Kings (TSK), who have allegiance to IPL's CSK. MLC is set to begin from July 13 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. 

"The (Texas Super kings) team will be led by coach Stephen Fleming. Fleming is a former captain of the New Zealand national cricket team and head coach of Indian Premier League team Chennai Super Kings. He played in the first-ever Twenty20 international to be staged as captain of the New Zealand team in 2005," quoted a TSK statement.

Under the guidance of Fleming, Chennai's Kings have successfully bagged the IPL title four times. For the opening season of the SA20 league in South Africa, Joburg Super Kings another team owned by CSK, was also coached by him.

After CSK's entry, four out of six tournament teams have owners connected with the IPL with, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians being the remaining three. 

In an interview co-owner of TSK, Anurag Jain said:

"Cricket is the second-most popular sport in the world with a global fan base of around 2.5 billion followers, but there has not been an opportunity for the sport to grow in the US. We look forward to having a professional team in Texas for the passionate local cricket community to root for and to introduce the sport to new fans across the country."

San Francisco Unicorns, Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings and Washington DC. Capitals, are the six teams participating in the MLC.
