On Sunday, India defeated Australia in the second Test match to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match Test series.

It was a complete performance by Team India, who outplayed Australia in all three departments to clinch a 6-wicket win.

Chasing a paltry 115, India lost KL Rahul early, but Rohit Sharma went aggressive early in the innings, and small contributions from Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and KS Bharat sealed a famous win in Delhi.

After the match, coach Rahul Dravid showered praise on Rohit Sharma for his captaincy, and reckons that India is lucky to have someone like Rohit Sharma take over from Virat Kohli in Test captaincy.

"He is one of those guys who has been there a long time. The kind of person who doesn't speak a lot, but when Rohit does they all listen. He deeply cares a lot about the dressing room and the players. We are very lucky to have Rohit take over the leadership from someone like Virat," Dravid said after the match.

Rohit took over the Test captaincy from Virat Kohli in 2022 after the South Africa series.

Speaking to the official broadcasters during the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma praised the duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

"Even if we were just one run behind, I felt we were trailing because we had to bat last. The bowlers were fantastic, to take nine wickets today morning is commendable. And then we finished the job with the bat. From being overnight 61/1, Australia were bundled out in the first session of the third day."

The Indian captain also praised the crucial partnerships between Jadeja-Kohli, and Axar Patel- R Ashwin, stating that the two partnerships gave them the winning edge over the Aussies.
