IND vs AUS: Sanjay Manjrekar Applauds Indian Management For Dropping KL Rahul

Experienced Indian batter KL Rahul has recently received a lot of flak for his prolonged poor run in international cricket.

The stylish right-hander, who was once expected to fill in the shoes of the legendary Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, has undergone an exponential downfall, managing only 175 Test runs at a mediocre average of 15.90 since 2022.

It was no exception in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy either, as the opener, despite ample backing from the management, could score only 38 runs in the first two Test matches.

Considering his horrible rough patch, the Indian think tank finally replaced him with the promising Shubman Gill in the third Test in Indore.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar opined that Rahul was rightfully dropped from the playing XI, as he lauded the management for making the bold call.

Here's what Manjrekar said

"I was thinking whether the management will show courage and do the right thing with KL Rahul, who is a big name player and has played some important innings in the past. I think everyone supports the decision, so well done."

Meanwhile, India fell flat against the Australian spinners on Indore's rank turner on day 1 of the third Test. As of writing, the hosts are 108 for eight, with Axar Patel and Umesh Yadav batting on 11 and 17, respectively.
