Since making his IPL debut in 2008, Virat Kohli has been the backbone of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the lucrative tournament. After overcoming his almost three-year-long lean patch, Kohli has got a dream start to the IPL 2023, amassing 279 runs at a superb average of 46.50 and a healthy strike rate of 141.62. 

However, Kohli is expected to have a tough time in the middle tonight, as RCB will take on KKR, who handed them a demoralising 81-run defeat in their previous face-off. 

So, as the Faf du Plessis-led side gears up to avenge that humiliating loss, legendary former South African spinner Imran Tahir has urged Kohli to bat for a longer period in this match.

Tahir, who has represented Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, also revealed his wish to see Kohli amass a lot of runs in the IPL this season. 

Here's what Tahir stated on Kohli

"Virat Kohli is a class batsman. It has always been difficult for me to get him out. I want him to score a lot of runs in IPL. His team has high hopes for him and for this reason, Virat should think about staying on the wicket for a little longer."
