Sunrisers Hyderabad's premier off-spinner Washington Sundar wreaked havoc in Delhi Capitals' camp, as he struck thrice in an over to bring the visitors down on their knees during the ongoing group-stage encounter between the two teams. Sundar, who triggered the collapse by removing DC skipper David Warner, went on to dismiss Sarfaraz Khan and Aman Khan to rattle the Capitals in this process.
Notably, the experienced off-spinner didn't have the best of starts to the game, being hammered for 13 runs, including a four and a six, in his first over. However, he bounced back remarkably, taking three crucial wickets in his second over to swing the game in the hosts' favour.
Sundar started his second spell on an emphatic note, dismissing David Warner, who looked set for a big score. After that, the wily tweaker bowled with a big heart and tossed the ball up, deceiving Sarfaraz Khan by flight and eventually sending him back to the dugout.
If that was not enough, the 23-year-old further went on to get rid of young all-rounder Aman Khan, leaving DC in complete disarray, reeling at 62 for five.
As a result of his sensational spell, the Capitals are feeling the heat in the middle, placed at 72 for five at the time of writing.
