Shubman Gill, the key batsman for Gujarat Titans, believes that his recent achievements in international and franchise cricket can be attributed to his deep understanding of his own game and his awareness of his strengths as a player.
In a crucial match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, Gill played a remarkable innings of 104 runs off just 52 balls, including eight sixes. This outstanding performance helped his team chase down a challenging target of 198 runs in just 19.1 overs, eliminating Royal Challengers Bangalore from the tournament.
Shubman Gill, after his brilliant century, issued a strong statement to the Chennai Super Kings, emphasizing that his team possesses a formidable bowling lineup that can pose a significant challenge to MS Dhoni's team, particularly on the specific pitch conditions at Chepauk during the playoffs.
“I think we have a great bowling attack for that (Chennai) wicket. It’s going to be an exciting one, playing against Chennai in Chennai. Hopefully, we’ll make it to the final for the second time,” said Shubman in a post-match presentation.
Gill, who is currently in contention for the prestigious 'Orange Cap', has amassed an impressive total of 680 runs so far.
“It’s all about getting a start and converting it into a big one. Thankfully, it’s working out for me in the business end. You have to keep applying yourself, that’s important," added Gill while talking about his century.
