In a significant move towards securing a spot in the IPL playoffs, Royal Challengers Bangalore delivered a commanding eight-wicket victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday. The Sunrisers, batting first, set a challenging target of 187 runs, with Heinrich Klaasen's remarkable knock of 104 runs. Nevertheless, Virat Kohli dampened the spirits of the home team by registering his maiden century in this season of the IPL.

Former Australian speedstar Brett Lee, in an interview with JioCinema heaped praises for the winning team and said:

"It keeps getting better and better. Those two guys went out with the right intent. Klaasen was A-grade and then Kohli came in and just went bang.”

He also added:

“Some of those shots that Kohli played, the way I liked how he places things was, he gave himself a chance to talk. He wasn’t moving around a lot… When he’s playing shots like these, you know he’s on… They gave themselves a chance, both those guys, and you also have to give credit also to Faf du Plessis, who was a great ally and allowed Kohli to steal the game.”

Brett Lee confidently expressed his belief that Bangalore has a real chance of winning their first IPL title since the tournament's inception and said:

“RCB, they will give this IPL a red-hot crack. I have got them in my top four and watch out, they could win it this year.”

RCB's triumph propelled them to the fourth spot in the points table. This win carried significant importance for RCB since a loss would have enhanced the Mumbai Indians' prospects of surpassing them in the qualification race. They would next be seen playing against the defending champions and qualified team, Gujarat Titans.
