'I Didn't Listen To My Wife...' Shimron Hetmyer Talks After RR's Last league Game

Shimron Hetmyer has been RR's go-to finisher for two years now and has won them many important games.  Now, in the 66th game of IPL 2023, Hetmyer once again stepped up for his side and delivered a powerful performance to keep his team in the playoff race of the 16th edition of IPL.

RR needed to win the game before 18.3 overs to get their net run-rate over RCB but that could not happen but at least they have a slim chance now.

Hetmyer who scored 46 off 28 balls said that he wanted to finish the game as quickly as possible and they tried to win the game before the 18th over. He also talked about his wife and added that she tries to tell him about how to go about his business during batting but he tries to not listen to her.

"I was trying to see how fast we can finish the game. I was actually trying to finish the game before the 18th over. I didn't listen to my wife really. She tells me what to do as far as batting is concerned. It's always good to have someone say something to me. It doesn't really happen that often when I'm batting so gives me a little bit more confidence and energy to execute."  

RR have won seven and lost seven of their 14 matches this season and now need RCB and MI to lose their last league game, if they want to qualify for the playoffs.
