It was an unlikely tense finish to the match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) that went down to the wire as the latter earned a well-fought victory by five runs in the final over. The reason for their victory was none other than their experienced campaigner Ishant Sharma who defended 12 runs in the last over against Rahul Tewatia and Hardik Pandya.

After the game, Ishant was questioned about his plan and how he is working on his bowling, to this, the right-armer admitted to practicing yorkers in the nets which paid off in this game.

"I was just practicing bowling wide yorkers in the nets. The hard work pays off. When you are preparing yourself in the nets, we plan how to bowl to certain batters. I don't think what people think. I just keep believing in myself and try to nail those yorkers,"

The Delhi-born bowled four overs in the game where he recorded figures of 2 for 23 as he scalped crucial wickets of Vijay Shankar and Rahul Tewatia in the match.

Ishant also revealed that he double-bluffed Tewatia in the final over as they have been playing cricket for a long time together. He further said that he doesn't think too much about the scorecard and infact, all his focus is on implementing his plans well during the match.

"I have played enough cricket with Tewatia. I just knew I had to double-bluff him and go with the shorter deliveries. To be honest, we don't think what target we have on the board. We just try to execute the plans and bowl the best balls. We just have to carry the momentum forward and hope for the best in the future."

Ishant and Delhi's next challenge will be against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on 6th May.
