Yuvraj Singh’s cancer diagnosis came as a surprise to the entire cricketing world, especially because it struck at a time when he was at the top of his game and the Indian cricketing fraternity was still basking in the glory of the historic 2011 World Cup triumph. His tough road to recovery turned out to be more than just a personal battle as it inspired him to start something bigger, something that could support others going through the same fight.

Shortly after his treatment in early 2012, Yuvraj Singh and his mother Shabnam Singh launched ‘YouWeCan’, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting cancer. The initiative began with a mission to spread awareness, promote early detection, and provide financial and emotional support to cancer patients across India.

Rise Of Yuvraj Singh Cancer Foundation

‘YouWeCan’, a non-profit organization started by Yuvraj Singh and his mother, has been dedicated to fighting cancer. The foundation came into existence in 2012, shortly after Yuvraj completed his cancer treatment in the United States.

Initially, the organization focused on creating awareness about cancer and funding early detection programs. Over the next few years, the foundation expanded its work to include patient treatment support and survivor-focused initiatives across the country.

As per various reports, the foundation has already funded the treatment of hundreds of underprivileged patients, including scores of children. One of the key milestones for ‘YouWeCan’ has also been its scholarship program for cancer survivors, where they help the young fighters in their rebuilding process after recovery.

The YouWeCan has already partnered up with numerous hospitals and schools to build a nationwide support system for cancer patients.
