Bailing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) out of trouble on numerous occasions, skipper Faf du Plessis has been scoring runs consistently for the side that wears red, black and gold. The South African has been one of the prolific performers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he has scored tons of runs for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) previously, and currently, is the orange cap holder with a cumulative of 466 runs this season.

du Plessis's consistency has impressed former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri who was all praise for the right-hander stating that he holds the fort for them in this tournament. Moreover, according to him, the skipper has adjusted himself well to the different conditions present here in India.

The fact that Faf has been brilliant everywhere, even led to Shastri saying that he rises to the occasion when it's tough for scoring runs.

"Faf du Plessis applies himself well after gauging the pitch. When the going gets tough, he rises to the occasion. He has done it in the past as well for CSK. When the pitch is tricky, he holds the fort and that's exactly what he's doing this year for RCB."

Previously, Faf won player of the match award for putting up a fighting 44 against Lucknow Super Giants, the game that RCB won by 18 runs in the end.

Next, the 38-year-old will take the field against Delhi Capitals on 6th May at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
