Veteran Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Sunil Narine has described current skipper Nitish Rana as an "open captain". Rana was appointed captain of the two-time IPL winners ahead of the 16th season after regular skipper Shreyas Iyer was ruled out due to his recurring back issues.

Rana may have never led an IPL franchise but he has immense experience of captaincy in domestic circuit.

And, Narine is quite enjoying playing under him as the veteran spinner feels that the latter is quite open to taking suggestions from the senior players.

"I think we have some words bouncing off each other and he is a open captain so that is a great thing for him," Sunil Narine told IPL.

Meanwhile, the Knight Riders pulled off a sensational heist against defending champions Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday evening thanks to a peerless Rinku Singh.

Even though Venkatesh Iyer played a sensational hand - a 40-ball 83 - to keep his side afloat in a 205-run chase, a hat-trick from Rashid Khan ensured that KKR were up against it when Rinku came to bat.

With 29 needed off the last over, it looked as if GT will romp to another victory, but Rinku had other ideas.

The UP lad went on a staggering six-hitting spree, smashing 5 consecutive maximums off Yash Dayal to pull off one of the greatest finishes in IPL history.
